Dr. Adams earned her PhD in chemical engineering from Princeton University and her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa. Following her graduate work, she spent 13 years in research and development with Cabot Corporation, an international specialty chemicals company. Her subsequent experience includes stints in non-profit administration, technical support for an online training company, and bookkeeping, systems development, trust administration, and paralegal work for her husband’s law firm, all part-time and working around her family’s needs.
Eva and David Adams were married in 1994, after meeting through church. They decided to homeschool their children (after a brief stint in the public schools) so they could teach them to view the world, particularly history and literature, from God’s perspective and also to maintain and strengthen their family bond. Dr. Adams became a Christian in a Restoration Movement church during her time at Princeton. She enjoys finding the connections between different parts of Scripture and learning about the historical times in which the Biblical events are set and strives to read the Word without filters. She also studies Koine Greek in order to read the New Testament text in its original language.
Mr. Bercot obtained his doctor of jurisprudence degree magna cum laude from Baylor University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Stephen F. Austin State University. He limits his law practice to title examination. With a dedication to understand the historic Christian faith, he eventually took a year-long break from his practice to begin an in-depth study of the early Christians who lived before the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325. Following this period of study, he wrote the book Will the Real Heretics Please Stand Up, which sets forth some of the teachings and lifestyle of the early Christians. Shortly thereafter, he established Scroll Publishing Company for the purpose of publishing various writings of the pre-Nicene Christians, as well as to publish other Christian books.
Mr. Bercot's other books include A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, The Kingdom That Turned the World Upside Down, In God We Don’t Trust, Let Me Die in Ireland and Will the Theologians Please Sit Down. Today, he is a lecturer and author who emphasizes the simplicity of Biblical doctrine and early (ante-Nicene) Christian teaching over against what he would call the heavy and complex body of theological understandings that have built up over the centuries in churches and in academia and that have come to be thought of as orthodoxy.
Dr. Kuruvilla holds an MD from Harvard Medical School, a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University, a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, and a bachelor’s degree from Caltech in Chemistry. He is a co-founder and the lead portfolio manager for Eventide Funds, a socially-responsible and values-based investing firm. From 2008-2016, he was a Principal at Clarus Ventures, a leading healthcare and life sciences venture capital firm. From 2005-2008, Dr. Kuruvilla was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard and MIT (Broad Institute) in medical genetics. Prior to this research, Dr. Kuruvilla was a resident physician and clinical fellow at two Boston area hospitals (Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston) where he cared for both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Kuruvilla has been a practicing Christian for many years. He has a keen interest in biblical interpretation and church history, for the purpose of fostering a strong and vibrant church today. His interests include ante-Nicene Christianity, Reformation and Anabaptist history, and the Great Awakenings of the eighteenth and nineteenth century. He is the author of King Jesus Claims His Church.
Mr. Pike is a civil/environmental engineer with a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, both degrees awarded by Stanford University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Massachusetts. Mr. Pike has worked for engineering consulting firms as an engineering manager, leading multi-discipline technical teams to deliver large water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects from design through construction and startup.
Mr. Pike's involvement in Christian ministry includes serving for six years as an intern minister with a large urban church, and serving for two years on a church planting mission team in Tirana, Albania. He has taught the Old Testament to Christians in 10 countries, and has given lectures on apologetics to church and graduate student groups. He home-schooled his children through high school, and currently is in his third year of formal study of Greek, motivated by a desire to read the Septuagint in the original, to support deeper study and teaching of the Old Testament.
